Where are thin section bearings used?

Robotics, medical equipment, aerospace equipment, camera and optical equipment all require thin section bearings, due to the space limitations in these applications.

Thin section ball bearings were developed by reducing the space between the inside and outside bearing rings, allowing them to fit into tighter spaces. SMB Bearing supplies EZO thin section ball bearing, which can be supplied open, shielded or sealed in SAE52100 chrome steel and 440 grade stainless steel. For more aggressive conditions, thin section bearings are also available in ceramic and plastic.

These bearings are designed to withstand radial loads and moderate thrust loads and are suitable for most applications requiring high accuracy with little space.
