Stainless steel ball bearings for shafts from 10mm to 50mm diameter
See product table below for dimensions and technical drawings
These larger stainless steel bearings are available from stock in the UK. They are designed for wet and mildly corrosive environments where the bearings are required to cope with medium to high loads or speeds. Our stainless steel bearings are widely used in the food and beverage industries where equipment is frequently washed down. We also stock a large range of stainless steel bearings in smaller sizes.
These stainless steel bearings are manufactured in AISI-440C although the EZO bearings use rings made from the more corrosion resistant and more hard-wearing KS440 (ACD34/X65Cr13) grade stainless steel. The stainless steel shields and retainers are usually made from AISI-304 stainless steel but some sizes are available with a reinforced polyamide retainer. All sizes can be supplied with stainless steel shields or rubber contact seals. Some sizes are also available with high temperature and chemically resistant Viton seals.
Our stainless steel ball bearings can be supplied with food grade lubricants, water resistant or chemically resistant lubricants as well as high temperature lubricants to withstand up to 300°C. Stainless steel will cope with much higher temperatures than chrome steel.
Stainless steel bearings are suitable for use in mildly corrosive environments as the steel is corrosion resistant but it is affected by seawater and stronger acids or alkalis. For environments that are too corrosive for 440 grade stainless steel, we can supply austenitic 316 grade stainless steel bearings or plastic bearings for low loads and speeds. For higher loads and speeds, we stock a range of full ceramic bearings. Stainless steel bearings can be used in vacuum applications with a vacuum compatible grease. Alternatively, for low speeds, they can be supplied without any lubricant or with a dry lubricant such as molybdenum disulphide or tungsten disulphide.
Click on INFO in the rows below to display technical drawings of the bearings with load and speed data. The load ratings shown are for AISI-440C stainless steel bearings. Load ratings are higher for EZO KS440 bearings. Please note that the maximum loads and speeds are used in theoretical life calculations. It is recommended to use bearings at significantly less than the maximum load and speed ratings to ensure reasonable bearing life.
