Flanged stainless steel thin section bearings for shaft sizes from 10 mm to 15 mm
Our flanged thin section ball bearings are made from premium stainless steel. The stainless steel flange on the outer ring allows the bearing to be more easily located in a housing. The flange can also help to prevent axial movement of a bearing subjected to a thrust load or high vibration, making them ideal for applications under these conditions.
Stainless steel flange bearing characteristics
These bearings excel in mildly corrosive environments, offering robust performance where space constraints or weight reduction are crucial factors. With a stainless steel retainer and a suitable high temperature lubricant, they can withstand temperatures of up to 250 °C constant or 300 °C intermittent. The bearings’ corrosion-resistant nature makes them suitable for various applications, although they may be affected by seawater and stronger acids or alkalis.
Stainless steel bearings do not need preservative oil on the exterior surfaces, so they can be used dry (without lubrication).
Specialised applications
These versatile bearings find application in manyindustries including, but not limited, to automotive, aerospace and manufacturing. They are particularly useful in environments where the housing may expand more than the bearing's outer ring at higher temperatures, necessitating a looser fit. In addition, the bearings are available in chrome steel variants for specific requirements.

Whether you need open bearings, shielded with AISI-304 stainless steel shields, or sealed with rubber contact seals, we cover a wide range of specifications. Additionally, certain variants come with low friction non-contact rubber seals, which ensures optimal performance in low-torque operating conditions.
Explore the different options below which include chrome steel and non-flanged alternatives, providing even more choices to suit your specific needs. Whether you require shielded bearings pre-lubricated with grease or completely dry for low-speed, low-torque applications, we have you covered.
Furthermore, our bearings can be relubricated as per customer requirements, ensuring long-term reliability and performance. Get in touch with us if you’re interested in our in-house relubrication services. SMB Bearings has been providing bearing relubrication services for approximately 30 years, and we stock many specialised lubricants. See our lubricants table for more information.

For detailed technical specifications, including load and speed data, simply click on INFO in the respective rows below. Please note that while the load ratings provided are for AISI-440C stainless steel bearings, EZO KS440 bearings offer even higher load ratings. However, it is advisable to operate bearings at well below their maximum load and at speed ratings that ensure optimal longevity and performance.
